Company Commercial Banking•Metro•10242OverviewThe purpose of this job is to provide support for multi assigned Commercial Relationship Managers in serving the needs of clients and prospects, with regard to loans, deposits, investments, trusts, and insurance products. Support should be provided in all aspects of the commercial lending process to include successful loan closings, and portfolio management subsequent to loan closings. This position will get instructions from the Commercial Banking Support Manager while supporting the assigned Commercial Relationship Managers.

The purpose of this job is to utilize advanced knowledge and experience of acceptable commercial lending practices to provide support for multi Commercial Relationship Managers II or III with (all of the duties of Community Banking Assistant I, plus) complicated portfolio management, perfection of loan documentation, and technical assistance, as needed, to ensure timely and accurate coordination of reviews, loan renewals, loan modifications, exceptions and compliance resolution, and all other aspects of the commercial lending and portfolio management processes. This position will get instructions from the Commercial Banking Support Manager while supporting the assigned Commercial Relationship Managers.

ResponsibilitiesProvide administrative support for the department. Duties include, but not limited to answering phones and referring calls to appropriate staff, coordinating officer calendars and scheduling appointments, preparing correspondence, memos, reports, ordering supplies and maintenance requests, training new associates, opening and distributing mail, and preparing expense reportsGather information and prepare loan applications, disburse loan advances, accurately quote payoffs, order credit reports, pull financial statements, collect and review documentation for accuracy and compliance prior to submission for processing, manage exception list, work closely with Relationship Managers in attaining and approving collateral releases, complete, file and release Universal Commercial Code (UCCs), complete application for Letters of Credit, and retrieve and utilize information on sweep accountsInterface with other departments including branch personnel, Loan Operations, Central Document Processing (CDP), Wire Transfer, Treasury Services, Mail Distribution, Trust, Compliance, Credit Analysis and Credit Operations, and the Legal DepartmentAssisting customers with general banking functions (post close) as needed including transferring funds, wires, and balancing checking accountsProvide excellent customer service to all clients, internally and externallyPerform additional duties as assigned.

QualificationsQualifications for Commercial Banking Assistant IHigh school diploma or 2 year degree with business administration emphasis preferredMinimum of two (2) years of previous experience as a business banking assistant or relevant general banking or general assistant experienceKnowledge of general banking and business banking procedures and practices preferredAccounting and mathematical aptitudeDue to the critical element of customer exposure, the qualified associate must demonstrate excellent customer service ability in addition to each of the following:

Excellent interpersonal skillsGood organizational skills with demonstrable ability to multitaskGood communication skills (verbal and written) while demonstrating ability to use lending terminologyGood time management skillsIntermediate computer skills, including function ability with Word, Excel, and preferably other bank systems (such as nCino, OnDemand, Outloo , etc.) necessary to perform tasks (typing skills•test 30 wpm)MUST be able to exercise confidentiality with sensitive informationQualifications for Commercial Banking Assistant IICollege degree preferredMinimum of five (5) years of experience as a Community Banking Assistant I or proven equivalentKnowledge of advanced banking and commercial lending procedures and practicesFamiliarity with legal concepts involving commercial lending and knowledge of when and whom to forward escalated concernsFunctional understanding of UCCs, Deeds of Trust, Borrowing Base Certificates, Letters of Credit, and Sweep AccountsAccounting and mathematical aptitudeDue to the critical element of customer exposure, the qualified associate must demonstrate excellent customer service ability in addition to each of the following:
