Mike Strakhov Agency Banking Loan Analyst Job Summary The Agency Banking Loan Analyst performs a broad range of responsibilities including collaborating with lenders to ensure efficient and effective communication between lenders, underwriting, credit, closing and the customer. In addition, the Agency Banking Loan Analyst will conduct portfolio reviews, analysis, and reporting along with other activities in support of lender’s portfolios. At the direction of the lender and/or the Agency Banking Market Leader, the Agency Banking Loan Analyst is responsible for representing Westfield Bank to potential external customers (e.g. agents, agencies) for the purpose of developing both commercial loan and business deposit services. The Agency Banking Loan Analyst develops and maintains profitable customer relationships. The Agency Banking Loan Analyst collaborates with the Agency Banking Market Leader and lenders in developing banking and lending acumen and financial solutions for customers. Essential Functions (primary functions and/or reasons the job exists in order of importance) Works with the Agency Banking Market Leader and Lenders to create and design flexible commercial lending solutions for customers. Assists bankers with the loan process acting as a liaison between lender, underwriting, credit, closing and the customer for successful funding of new business loans. Represents Westfield Bank to potential external customers for the purpose of developing both commercial loan and business deposit service. Creates and builds profitable customer relationships with business clients (e.g. agents, agencies) by providing financial advice and Bank solutions. Networks within the business/civic communities to create new sales and business development opportunities for the full range of Westfield Bank services. This includes developing centers of influence internally within Westfield Insurance leadership and externally (e.g. agents, agencies, agency consulting firms). Collaborates with the Agency Banking Market Leader to create and develop flexible commercial lending solutions for customers, presents lending solutions to Bank Executive team and potential customers. Collaborates with the Agency Banking Market Leader and utilizes prior banking/business experience, understanding of cash flow, and, asset/liability valuation to analyze and recommend loan requests and set loan pricing options. Understands, respects, and complies with all laws, rules and regulations which govern Banking institutions. Constructs, prepares, and presents financial reports and credit summary memos that comply with Bank standards. Develops banking, lending, and financial acumen through working and collaborating with the Agency Banking Market Leader and more experienced Agency Banking Commercial Loan Officers. Networks within Westfield Insurance’s agency force at on-site Westfield events to create new sales and business development opportunities for the full range of Westfield Bank services. Participates, as needed, on calls to business and prospective clients and tracks activity in bank’s CRM system. Makes presentations both internally and externally for means of creating awareness of agency banking products and services. Resolves difficult client situations involving the collection of delinquent loans, etc. Continually looks for opportunities to proactively upgrade and improve Bank administrative processes, technology, automation and controls. Maintains awareness, understanding and compliance with the Bank’s internal policies and procedures, laws and regulations appropriate for this position. Provides assistance in response to regulatory and internal/external audit requests. Travels as needed in order to perform other essential functions. Desired Qualifications/Experience/Certification/Education (in order of importance) 7+ years of relevant banking experience (e.g. commercial lending, consumer lending, premium financing, treasury management). Experience maintaining a high degree of customer service focus. Strong negotiation skills gained via previous work experiences and/or assignments. Experience building internal and external relationships for the purposes of business new business relationships and client retention. Ability and willingness to travel, when necessary. Experience being accurate with a focus on attention to details via previous work assignments. Experience being adaptable and resourceful in various situations.
