Job Description:
PURPOSE OF JOB
With consideration for age-specific responsibilities to include infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric, anticipate the needs of our patients, referring physicians and hospital associates by providing MRI safety information and advice. Schedules, registers and provides financial services. Provides this seamless activity through the collaboration of patients, physicians, payers and other hospital services.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Schedules MRI procedures. Screens all patients for ferrous and RF-sensitive material before scheduling. Provides financial counseling for all patients. Collects co pay and co insurance if required Registers MRI patients at time of service. Places exam order. Monitors completeness of patient account.
Job Qualifications:
Education:
High School or equivalent is required
Experience:
3-5 years of patient scheduling, or billing experience preferred
Other Skills:
Excellent customer skills. Ability to negotiate and problem solve. Knowledge of medical terminology. Excellent computer skills Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks. Excellent communication skills. Good math and analytical skills. Ability to work productively as part of team.
Training required once hired:
Doylestown Hospital Orientation Registration, Scheduling, Financial, Meditech Education Training period once hired: 5-7 months
