The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and related regulations. This role is crucial in protecting the organization from financial crimes and maintaining the integrity of our banking operations. The Bank Secrecy Act Officer will work closely with various departments to implement effective compliance strategies and monitor adherence to regulatory requirements. Responsibilities Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures related to BSA compliance. Conduct regular internal audits to assess the effectiveness of BSA programs and controls. Prepare and submit regulatory reports as required, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Monitor transactions for suspicious activity and conduct investigations when necessary. Collaborate with corporate accounting teams to ensure proper financial reporting under SOX guidelines. Utilize financial software to analyze data and support compliance efforts. Stay updated on changes in regulations affecting BSA compliance, including ACH rules. Provide training to staff on BSA regulations, compliance practices, and internal policies. Assist in the development of risk assessments related to financial auditing processes. Experience Proven experience in a banking or financial services environment, with a focus on compliance or risk management. Strong understanding of regulatory reporting requirements related to BSA and anti-money laundering (AML). Familiarity with COSO framework principles as they pertain to internal controls. Experience with financial software tools that support auditing and compliance functions. Background in corporate accounting or financial auditing is preferred but not required. Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
