What You WillDo:

The Patient Account Representative is expected to performspecific areas of billing, follow up, account resolution,adjustment posting, adjustment refunds, and scanning as requiredfor non-government accounts. This position works with otherdepartments to facilitate the meeting of both departmental/facilitygoals and objectives. This position is responsible for verifyingpayments received are correct per our contract, for ensuringpatient satisfaction, and demonstrating the ability to findsolutions to problems. The Patient Account Representative alsocollaborates with Managment regarding payment patterns and/or otherissues with specific payers to ensure efficient process execution.

The Patient Account Representative possesses a strong knowledge ofbilling, managed care, and timely filing guidelines. Additionally,executors of this role demonstrate an ability to effectively reviewremittance advices and electronic billing reports from payer todetermine appropriate actions. This position performs all relatedjob duties as assigned.

What You WillNeed:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 0-2 years ofexperience in hospital billing and/or claims follow-up What WouldBe Nice to
Have:
  • CPAR (Certified Patient Account Rep)
  • Knowledgeand understanding of diagnosis, HCPCS and CPT codes.
  • 1 yearexperience with claim edits and follow-up related togovernment/non-government claims accounts.
  • Prior experience withMetrix, SSI, and HealthQuest
  • Experience with spreadsheets,reporting, payer websites and sFax.
  • Excellent communication andinterpersonal skills
  • Great typing skills along with MS Excel andWord experience
