Job Description

Floater/Insurance Follow up Internal Medicine Specialists 513 Brookwood Blvd, Birmingham, AL 35209 Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Floater/Insurance Follow Up professional to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our insurance processes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing insurance follow-ups, addressing inquiries, and providing support across various departments as needed. This position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. This position would be required to float to other positions as needed. This includes the front desk/telephone scheduling/ medical records/ and check-out. Responsibilities Conduct timely follow-ups on outstanding insurance claims to ensure prompt resolution. Review and analyze insurance denials and take appropriate actions to appeal or correct issues. Maintain accurate records of all communications with insurance companies and patients. Assist with various administrative tasks, including data entry and filing, as needed across departments. Collaborate with team members to streamline processes and improve overall efficiency. Respond to patient inquiries regarding their insurance coverage and billing statements. Provide support during peak times by floating between departments as required. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in healthcare administration or a related field is preferred. Previous experience in medical billing, coding, or insurance follow-up is highly desirable. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare regulations is a plus.
