Purpose
Process all Claims in accordance with departmental timeframes. Also, in accordance with State laws
and regulatory guidelines. Provide service to customers via telephone and written communication.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Claims processing, Cancellations, Disbursements, Filing, and Surrenders.
Customer Service
Policy Changes, Policy Loans, Address Changes, Funeral Home Transfers
Problem Solving
Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

There are no supervisory responsibilities for this position.
Education and/or

Experience:

Bachelors degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university; or
three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and
experience. Previous Customer Service experience required.

Language Skills:

The employee has the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules,
operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. The employee has the ability to write
routine reports and correspondence.

Math Skills:

The employee has the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts,
interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. The employee has
the ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:

The employee has the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out
instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. The employee has the ability to deal with
problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Analytical Skills:

The employee has the ability to visualize, articulate, and solve both complex
and uncomplicated problems and concepts and make decisions that are sensical based on available
information. Such skills include demonstration of the ability to apply logical thinking to
gathering and analyzing information.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, the employee must be skilled in use of personal
computers, Excel Spreadsheets, email, Word Documents and 10-key adding machine.

perception and the ability to adjust focus.
