The ideal candidate will be responsible for obtaining prior authorizations for medical procedures and services, ensuring compliance with insurance guidelines and company policies. ## Duties
- Verify insurance coverage and eligibility for patients
- Submit and track prior authorization requests with insurance companies
- Communicate with healthcare providers to gather necessary information for authorization requests
- Review medical records and documentation to support authorization requests
- Maintain accurate records of authorization approvals and denials
- Stay updated on insurance regulations and guidelines related to prior authorizations ## Requirements
- Proficiency in medical terminology, ICD-9 coding, and HIPAA regulations
- Experience working in a medical office. Oncology experience is a plus espeically experience in prior authorizations for oral and parenteral chemotherapy and biological agents. Experience in speciality pharmacy is a plus
- Knowledge of medical coding practices and managed care processes
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills to interact with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and internal team members
