out of 5 stars Bossier City, LA 71111 We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Customer Service Representative to join our medical insurance call center team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for policyholders, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders. You will handle inquiries regarding medical insurance coverage, claims, billing, benefits, and eligibility. The ideal candidate will deliver excellent service while navigating complex insurance systems and maintaining confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Answer incoming calls promptly and professionally from policyholders, providers, and third parties.
- Provide accurate information regarding benefits, eligibility, claim status, prior authorizations, and billing.
- Assist members in understanding their insurance plans and available options.
- Document all interactions and transactions clearly and thoroughly in the system.
- Escalate complex or unresolved issues to appropriate departments following established procedures.
- Stay up to date with insurance policies, system updates, and compliance standards.
- Meet or exceed quality assurance, call handling, and productivity metrics.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA guidelines at all times.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; associate’s degree or higher preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of call center or customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare or insurance environment.
- Strong knowledge of medical insurance terminology, claims processing, and benefits structures is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient with computer systems and software, including CRM and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
