SUMMARY:
Provide technical support for the Claims Department, which involves completing assigned duties and responsibilities within designated time frames.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist Claims Department professionals in their job functions Print and mail approved Declination and ROR letters Mail documents regular, certified and overnight Distribute weekly and monthly Crystal Reports Complete general clerical functions including copying, emailing, faxing Provide Customer Service to insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys and outside vendors Transcribe recorded interviews as necessary Maintain Manuals Summarize medical reports, bills and demand packages Request conflict checks from attorneys, and forward file materials to attorneys and independent adjusters as directed Prepare Reinsurance Reports for adjuster review and remind them to update same Void Checks Request and process W-9’s and verify TIN Name and Number with the IRS Provide Customer Service to insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys and outside vendors Provide support to SIU, total loss, and/or billing department – duties to include background checks, bill auditing, total loss paperwork processing, negotiating total loss settlements, and ect… Have daily contact with the following in order to give, receive or exchange information: insureds and/or claimants and/or agents and/or attorneys and/or outside vendors. They deal with information that is considered personal and must be kept confidential Handle first party auto claims including, Med Pay, Comp and or Coll claims Follow up with vendors on subrogation and deductible collection Perform other similar or related duties or projects as assigned
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma and demonstrated successful work experience. Experience in an Administrative support type position. Excellent time management skills. Word processing keyboard skills typing 50 WPM. Solid communication skills to interact competently with internal and external customers. The ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Proficient skills with Microsoft Word, Excel and/or other programs. Knowledge of or experience in a Property and Casualty Insurance related field is a plus. Prior experience in a legal office and/or medical claims office is preferred. A Paralegal designation or medical certification is a plus.
MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
The ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. The ability to think independently, to collect, compile and organize facts and figures in accordance with established procedures. The ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions in written or diagram form. Reasoning skills and dealing with problems involving a few variables in standard situations.
