At Horace Mann – We help individual educators identify theirfinancial goals and develop plans to achieve them . Our solutionsinclude auto insurance, homeowners insurance, life insurance andretirement solutions. We are seeking an experienced Insurance Agentto serve a specialized educator market while assuming an existingbook of business with in-force policies and renewals . As a 1099Captive Agent , you will be responsible for retaining, servicing,and expanding relationships with educators , ensuring they have theright insurance solutions tailored to their unique needs while alsoproviding access to valuable no-cost programs and resources .
KeyResponsibilities:
Assume and grow an established book of businessconsisting primarily of educators and school employees. Retain andrenew existing policies while ensuring customer satisfaction andlong-term relationships. Generate new business through referrals,school partnerships, and networking within the education sector.
Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities to offeradditional protection, such as life and retirement products.
Educate clients on their coverage options, policy benefits, andfinancial protection strategies tailored for educators. ShareValue-Added Programs Student Loan Solutions to help educatorsnavigate loan repayment options. Financial Wellness Workshops tosupport long-term financial planning. Classroom Funding Assistancein partnership with DonorsChoose , helping educators secure fundingfor essential classroom resources.
Qualifications:
Active insurancelicense in (Life, Health, Property & Casualty, SIE, and the abilityto obtain additional FINRA licenses within 12 months). Provenexperience as an Insurance Agent or Agency Owner, specializing inProperty & Casualty, Life, and Retirement solutions. Strongrelationship-building skills with the ability to connect witheducators and school personnel. Self-motivated and goal-orientedwith the ability to work independently. Excellent communication andpresentation skills , especially in explaining policies tonon-financial professionals.
