Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for maintaining a professional and courteous attitude while serving our members and fellow staff. Fully complies with the requirements of all Credit Union Policies, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and OFAC Policies. Reviews total loss requests to ensure required documents are received. Responsible for submitting Gap claims, Gap Advantage claims, and Auto Deductible Reimbursement benefits. Processes and balance monthly reconciliation for ancillary products. Receives total loss payments for review and submission to member loan account. Cancels and refunds members for Extended Warranty and Gap cancellation requests. Reviews and processes Collateral Protection Insurance reports to include refunds, add-ons, and exceptions. Works Collateral Protection Insurance weekly billing summary. Acknowledge incoming Credit Life / Disability claims. Submit account documentation to file claim. Process payments received from claims. Communicates with other departments concerning payments and issues that arise regarding ancillary claims. Functions as the subject matter expert for members and retail staff regarding collateral protection insurance and life/disability claims. May be assigned other tasks by appropriate line supervision.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
There are no supervisory responsibilities with this position. The Insurance Specialist position is for reviewing and overseeing daily tasks and directly work with dept. management.
Other Skills:
Demonstrates ability to analyze complex information. Understanding of complex lien attachment and perfection rules for various collateral types. Understanding of consumer lending regulations. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be a team-oriented person and possess the ability to work effectively under pressure and competing priorities. Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should know Microsoft Office software, including Window s, Word, Excel, Outlook Email /Calendar, and Internet software. Experience with Meridian Link or another consumer loan system preferred.
