We are currently seeking an experienced Agribusiness Underwriting Director who will be responsible for leading and overseeing the Agribusiness risk control and underwriting teams in FCCI’s regional footprint of Florida/Georgia, Gulf Coast, Mid-Atlantic, Midwest, and Southwest states. The selected candidate will be responsible for the management, development, and profitability of all commercial agribusiness and farm accounts through sound underwriting principles reflective of company policy. Core competencies needed for success in this role include: solid strategic leadership, excellent technical expertise, proven record of results on key initiatives, agency management, and relationship building skills. The preferred location for this leadership position is in our Home Office in Sarasota, FL.     Experience
    Required
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; NOTE – Relevant, progressively responsible work experience may be substituted on a year for year basis for the required education
  • Minimum eight years commercial, multi-line, P&C marketing and underwriting experience preferably with Commercial Ag/Farm products
  • Three or more years leadership experience leading an underwriting team
  • Relevant experience managing and developing the skills of commercial underwriting staff
  • Strong knowledge of underwriting processes, coverages, tools and company products and services, along with hands-on underwriting technical experience
  • Excellent knowledge of the independent agency system, particularly within the Agribusiness arena
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, interpersonal, relationship building, and presentation skills
  • Ability to analyze, define and solve problems; the use of good judgment and decision-making
  • Ability to determine customer needs, provide solutions and price business appropriately
  • Solid working knowledge of economic data, analysis and analysis tools
    Preferred
  • Industry designations are preferred – AFIS, CPCU, etc.
