POSITION OVERVIEW

The Real Estate Underwriter role involves close collaboration with the New York Real Estate team to support underwriting, market research, and financial analysis for real estate acquisitions and development opportunities in the Florida market.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE REAL ESTATE UNDERWRITER

The Real Estate Underwriter will be responsible for underwriting commercial real estate assets, including loan underwriting and financial modeling.
Perform market research specific to Florida real estate trends and opportunities.
Analyze risks, returns, and profitability for property investment opportunities.
Collaborate with management on valuation strategies and financial planning.
Support the development and implementation of underwriting procedures and processes.
Conduct complex business analysis using Excel-based models.
Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to stakeholders in both English and Spanish.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS FOR THE REAL ESTATE UNDERWRITER

Advanced Excel modeling and analysis experience.
Must be bilingual in Spanish and English with the ability to read, write, and hold professional conversations.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Analytical thinking and attention to detail.
4+ years of experience underwriting commercial real estate loans.
2+ years of experience within the Florida real estate market.
Proven ability to build effective partnerships with diverse internal teams.
Experience working with private equity or investment firms.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Real Estate or a related field is required.
