Senior Construction Casualty Underwriter-Team Lead (Sr Level

Level IV)
123411 Zurich is seeking an experienced Construction Casualty Underwriter-Team Lead, (Sr. Level III or AVP Level IV) to join our Specialties Construction Casualty team in Atlanta or Charlotte. We may, at the sole discretion of the hiring manager be open to hiring talent remotely. This role will be filled at either the Senior Construction Casualty Underwriter (Level III) or AVP, Construction Casualty Underwriter (Leve IV). The hiring manager will determine the appropriate level based upon the selected applicant’s experience and skill set relative to the qualifications listed for this position. As Construction Casualty Underwriter-Team Lead Sr. Level III or AVP Level IV you will have a chance to use your marketing and analytical skills. Specifically, you will analyze and underwrite new and renewal business, under general direction, utilizing The Zurich Way of Underwriting Framework within delegated authority levels on assignments of higher technicalplexity ensuring a high level service to customers. This is a market facing position thus we are seeking someone with a strong sales execution mindset and knowledge of construction Casualty policies. Some of the key accountabilities of this role include: Administer and monitor underwriting rules and guidelines, rating manual rules, and insurance laws and regulations.
Develop, maintain & collaborate with Line of Business representatives and other business related needs, as appropriate.
Develop and maintain relationships with distributors (agents & brokers) in support of business retention and acquisition and works with customers and distributors (agents & brokers) to determine their insurance related needs and provide solutions.
Support theanization’s sales culture by being a Point for agents, brokers and customers.
Proactively seek renewal and new account opportunities.
Complete detailed opportunity assessment with key distributors to identify growth opportunities.
Qualify accounts to meet with theanization’s appetite, balanced with sound business opportunity.
Make broker/customer and on-sight calls with a planned and well-prepared purpose.

Basic Qualifications, Senior Level III:

High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area
OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area
OR
Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 3 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area
OR
Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 8 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area AND
Knowledge of Microsoft Office
Experience working on time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business
Experience working in a team environment

OR Basic Qualifications, AVP Level IV:

High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area
OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 14 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area
OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area
OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 12 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area
AND
Experience with

Microsoft Office Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree Technical knowledge ofmercial Construction Casualty Underwriting
Established broker relationships in Southeast market
