Job Objectives:
Allied World has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Vice President, to manage and grow a portfolio of general casualty business by exercising proper underwriting discipline, and by marketing and servicing both existing and potential clients. The opportunity exists within the Specialty Excess Casualty unit focusing on wholesale distribution with a targeted approach on Construction, Real Estate, Public Entity and Products liability risks.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Specific responsibilities of this position include:
Perform account analysis according to Allied World (US) General Casualty guidelinesDevelop account pricing/ structure/ make recommendationsPerform and document referralsPrepare quotes, binders, underwriting worksheets within company guidelinesMaintain files in an orderly manner consistent with company guidelinesDelegate and supervise work to Account CoordinatorsAttend Client meetings, lunches, dinners, and other social outings as applicableSpecialized focus on Marketing to wholesale brokers within assigned region and engage production meetingsWork with Legal department for manuscript wording analysis and preparation as neededAbility to interact with senior management on referral items, and willingness to train and work with UW Analysts and Junior Underwriters.
