A client of Insight Global is looking for a Personal Lines Underwriting Manager to lead and oversee a team of 10-15 underwriters. This role requires a strategic leader who can mentor, guide, and support the underwriting team, ensuring high-quality risk assessments and policy decisions. The manager will be responsible for reviewing underwriting policies and procedures, optimizing workflow efficiency, and maintaining compliance with industry regulations. Additionally, they will collaborate with senior leadership to develop underwriting strategies, ensuring profitability while maintaining customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in personal lines underwriting and proven managerial expertise, fostering a productive and collaborative work environment. The Underwriting Manager serves as a qualified spokesperson on behalf of the company and presents the company’s Personal Lines products, practices and vision to multiple audiences including independent insurance agents.
MUST HAVES
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field Proven experience in personal lines insurance underwriting Prior managerial experience – leading teams and experience in training, mentoring, and performance management Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills Ability to analyze and improve underwriting processes Proficiency in underwriting software and risk assessment tools Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standard
Plusses:
A Master’s degree in insurance and risk management Relevant certifications (e.g., CPCU, AINS, or CIC)
Compensation:
