Description Liberty MutualMobility Solutions (LMMS) is a highly collaborative team that drawson the firm’s vast commercial and personal lines capabilities tobring a full range of tailored solutions and nuanced approaches tothe rapidly evolving mobility landscape. This dedicated practicecombines creative commercial underwriting with product, actuarial,legal, and claims teams insights to stay ahead of market needs,anticipate emerging risks, and deliver tailored coverage andprograms. You will help shape Liberty’s role in the future of theMobility platform ecosystem by applying your exceptionalunderwriting skills and deep curiosity to evaluate and serve keyclients in the Ridehail, Gig Delivery, and Autonomous Vehiclesectors, to name a few. As an Executive Underwriter, your sophisticatedunderwriting acumen will help this team successfully navigate aunique blend of developing products and exposures, with aheightened focus on primary commercial casualty lines (auto andGL), as well as Workers Compensation, and an opportunity tocollaborate across the firm. Underwriting mobility-as-a-serviceplatforms requires curiosity and innovation to understand howbusinesses look today and anticipate what they will becometomorrow. Work Arrangements:

Hybrid in-office 2 days perweek if you are within 50 miles of a hub office.

Responsibilities:
Risk Selection and Deal Execution:

Reviews, underwrites, andassesses mobility-as-a-service platform clients and prospectiveopportunities (ridesharing, gig delivery, autonomousvehicles,vehicle sharing, etc.) in accordance with guidelines andauthority parameters. Collaborates with cross functional peers andexpert resources, as appropriate, to make informed analytical anddata-driven decisions, price and structure proposals, tailor andarticulate coverage positions, enable comprehensive accountreviews, and negotiate solutions, while maintaining strongdocumentation and communication.

Broker and Client Relationships:

Demonstrates a high level of responsiveness and focus on supportingbroker and client objectives. Establishes, develops, and maintainssuccessful relationships to facilitate successful outcomes throughclear and collaborative partner communications. Develops strongpersonal brand while articulating our strong value proposition tobuild and maintain a long-term quality pipeline.

PortfolioManagement:

Manages and develops a portfolio of mobility risks,identifying areas of opportunity for improved growth, profit, anddiversification through continuous monitoring and an active pulseon the developing marketplace. Works with team to prioritizestrategic growth opportunities that will increase market share.

Stays abreast of developing guidelines, state regulations,legislation, key legal cases, and claims trends to inform decisionmaking.

Leadership & Innovation:

Creates innovative insurancesolutions and helps develop underwriting protocols, products, andcoverages to address emerging risks; monitors and analyzes markettrends and competitive landscape. Provides input to the developmentof marketing plans, product analysis, competitive intelligence, andportfolio optimization across sectors, geographies, coverages, andprogram structures. Shares knowledge based on technical expertise,including providing external thought leadership. Mentors, coaches,and trains other underwriters and internal partners.

ContinuousImprovement:

Actively participates in continuous improvement byfully engaging in daily huddles, generating suggestions, andparticipating in problem solving activities. Participates inprojects across departments designed to drive underwriting andprocess excellence.

Teamwork:

Collaborates with cross-functionalteam members and other departments including product, claims,actuarial, client, service, risk control, legal, underwritingsupport, and other line underwriting teams.

AdditionalQualifications:

Rating Plan experience across primary casualtylines (e.g. large deductibles, retrospective rating, excess overself-insurance; experience with Captives preferred) Experience withdrafting manuscripts and custom policy language preferredQualifications Degree in Business or equivalent typically requiredA minimum of 7 years expected, typically 10 years or more, ofprogressive underwriting experience and/or other related businessexperience CPCU or professional insurance designation preferredProven analytical ability to evaluate and judge underwriting riskswithin scope of responsibility Demonstrated ability to communicatecomplex analyses and information in understandable written and/ororal directives to other persons in the organization forunderwriting or training purposes Demonstrated effectivecommunication and interpersonal skills in dealing with internal andexternal stakeholders Must demonstrate comprehension of mostcomplex technical underwriting issues and be capable of definingand implementing necessary underwriting and administrativeprocesses/workflows to properly manage or administer those issuesProven track record of developing and underwriting profitablebusiness About Us As a purpose-driven organization, Liberty Mutualis committed to fostering an environment where employees from allbackgrounds can build long and meaningful careers.
