The AVP will lead and manage the region in portfolio management, profitable growth, talent management and broker development. 170K

Benefits Package Responsibilities:

Work closely with product leaders to drive strategy Execute national plans for Allied Healthcare practice area: execute marketing initiatives, actively manage broker relationships, drive new business growth activity, and meet/exceed budget expectations Prepare monthly report to Regional Executives on YTD plan and forecasting Obtain senior level underwriting authority, actively underwrite accounts and assume responsibility for taking underwriting referrals for the team Liaise with Product Head and CUO on complex referrals Participate in the identification and hiring of underwriting talent for the team Train new Underwriters using the outlined Field UW Onboarding Best Practices Lead, develop and manage a team of high-performing Field Underwriters across the regions for the product, focusing their efforts to meet growth and profitability goals Oversee the portfolio of Allied Healthcare accounts nationally Execution of product management strategies with underwriters and brokers Analyze reports to aid in portfolio underwriting, identify specific growth and loss drivers and make data-driven recommendations for portfolio improvement Partner with product leaders, systems, actuarial and compliance to determine what enhancements are necessary to existing products and sales path, reposition existing products in the marketplace and recommend additional products, as needed. Responsible for building and maintaining UW pipelines to feed workflow nationally Maintain a strategic travel regimen for all UWs and provide quarterly marketing strategy to Regional Executive Oversee underwriting, pricing and negotiating of accounts to win new business and retain renewals Develop new relationships within existing brokers and maintain existing relationships with the national broker base Provide feedback to operations, underwriting management, claims and marketing on ways to remove barriers to elevate performance or service and to drive increased value to our partners (process tweaks/enhancements, marketing initiatives/results, product upgrades)

Requirements:

5-7+ years of insurance underwriting experience in Allied Healthcare 2+ years managing a team of underwriters

B.A./B.S

degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Risk Management or a related field A professional underwriting designation is preferred e.g.

CPCU, RPLU

Proven track record of working with brokers, developing and expanding a book of business; Exemplary sales skills which include pipeline, prospecting, negotiating, and closing Strong wholesale and retail broker relationships, preferred in the region
