Underwrite surety bonds for constructionfirms, manufacturers, and suppliers, and commercial enterprises forcorporations and individuals on an account and transactional basis.

Oversee a book of contract Surety business to meet production,marketing, and profitability goals set by manager. Build andmaintain positive relationships rather than transactional salesthrough marketing efforts. Meet with agents and brokers to solicitsubmissions and educate agency representatives on Surety policies,procedures, appetite, and requirements. Perform primary creditunderwriting and financial analysis, provide recommendations, andmake decisions on new and existing accounts. Underwrite new andexisting contractor account submissions utilizing grantedunderwriting authority. Meet with client to evaluate contractorfinancial, technical, organizational, and management capacities;past experience; and desired work objectives. Evaluate businesscontinuity arrangements and funding mechanisms such as adequacy oflife insurance to preclude financial drain of customer given demiseof owner or other insurable loss occurs. Perform analyticalevaluations of financial statements on both a static and trendbasis. Determine financial position of account and monitorfinancial position of risk through analysis of quarterly statementsand work in progress data. Assess and identify changes in businessincluding work program to financial strength criteria, nature ofwork performed (inherent risk), accuracy and timeliness of dataflow, and exposure analyses. Investigate, analyze, and manage allunderwriting, accounting, and work flow issues within framework ofSurety policies and procedures. Prepare and implement instructionsfor administering work flows and accounting issues to serviceunique situations.
