Zurich is currently hiring an experienced Life SciencesUnderwriter to join the Middle Market team in Boston. This positionwill be a hybrid role with two days per week in the office. MiddleMarkets is a key business segment within Zurich North America andwe are focused on attracting top customer advocates who possess asales mindset, strong technical underwriting skills and solutionfocused problem solving abilities. Zurich Middle Markets offers endto end solutions for our customers, inclusive of internationalprograms. You will handle complex new and renewal Middle Marketsbusiness and serve as a Subject Matter Expert for Middle MarketsLife Science. This role will be filled at the Senior or AVP level. The hiringmanager will determine the appropriate level based upon theselected applicant’s experience and skill set relative to thequalifications listed for this position. Responsibilities include

• Serving as a Life Science industry practice advocate with a focuson improving the customer experience by understanding their riskand offering the best end to end solution for their insuranceneeds.
• Using a disciplined approach to exposure evaluation, riskassessment and pricing
• Using risk insights, data and models todrive informed decisions at point of sale
• Assisting in therefinement of underwriting guidelines for life science exposures
• Identifying gaps in customer’s programs and aligning Zurich’sproducts and value proposition to offer a solution that providesthe contract certainty the customer needs
• Demonstrating stronganalytical skills and executing as an innovative advisor
• Underwriting, analyzing and generating new and renewal business forLife Science risks
• Demonstrating strong coverage analysis skillsand understanding and ability to communicate life science defensesand exposure analysis for product liability
• Market facing andproduction within the growing Middle Markets division
• Collaborating with multiple groups within Zurich to build knowledgeand understanding of life science exposures, controls, marketrequirements, and opportunities
• Administering and monitoringunderwriting rules and guidelines, insurance laws and regulationsand rating manual rules
• Developing and maintaining agency andbroker relationships
• Working within broad limits and authoritieson highly complex assignments

Basic Qualifications:

Senior level:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5 or more years of experiencein the Underwriting or Market Facing area. OR
• High School Diplomaor Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience in the Claims orUnderwriting Support area OR
• Zurich Certified InsuranceApprentice including an Associate Degree and 3 or more years ofexperience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area OR
• ZurichCertified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 8or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Supportarea AND
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Experience working ontime restraints for quotes on new and renewal business
• Experienceworking in a team environment OR AVP level:
• High School Diplomaor Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the Underwritingor Market Facing area. OR
• High School Diploma or Equivalent and14 or more years of experience in the Claims or UnderwritingSupport area OR
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice includingan Associate Degree and 5 or more years of experience in theUnderwriting or Market Facing area OR
• Zurich Certified InsuranceApprentice including an Associate Degree and 12 or more years ofexperience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area AND
• Experience with

Microsoft Office Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Microsoft Office experience At Zurich, compensation for roles isinfluenced by a variety of factors, including but not limited tothe specific office location, role, skill set, and level ofexperience.

Additional rewards may encompass short-term incentive bonuses andmerit increases. We encourage candidates with salary expectationsbeyond the provided range to apply, as they will be consideredbased on their experience, skills, and education. The salaryindicated represents a nationwide market range and has not beenadjusted for geographic differentials pertaining to the locationwhere the position may be filled. The combined salary range forthis position is $120,000.00

• $222,000.00. The proposed salaryrange for the Senior is $120,000.00
• $170,000.00, with short-termincentive bonus eligibility set at 15%. For the AVP is $172,000.00
