What you will do:
The Renewal Portfolio Manager (RPM) is a revenue generating role that is responsible for the renewal process and owns the renewal results for Sun Life’s block of business for u150 lives (MVP 150-300 lives). The position is accountable for achieving persistency and growth targets through case retention, organic growth and cross-selling additional lines of coverage on the assigned block of business. Accountabilities
- Responsible for renewal management on cases with 26-149 enrolled lives (150-300 MVP): research case history, performs overall case analysis, determines final renewal rates by applying standard underwriting principles and procedures (in partnership with Underwriting when appropriate), discusses recommendation on renewal rates, pool usage and cross sell opportunities with EBR (when appropriate); delivers electronic renewal to broker and follows up for closure
•Owns renewal results for block of business; responsible for achieving persistency and growth targets through effective retention efforts and cross selling additional lines of coverage
•Builds and maintains external relationships with key personnel at the agencies in assigned territory
•Builds and maintains relationships with internal teams to facilitate customer inquiries/issue resolution in conjunction with the renewal process
•Works with internal teams to complete contractual amendments resulting from the renewal process
•Responsible for the acquisition and distribution of renewal materials and exhibits on monthly renewals to the appropriate Account Executives for mid-market renewals
•Builds and maintains relationships with sales reps, Account Executives and internal service teams.
Collaborates regularly on opportunities, threats, and necessary action plans to meet customer and broker needs throughout the renewal process
- Tracks and maintains all current renewal status and data.
Organize information to be relevant and timely to follow Sun Life internal process, deliver timely renewals to the market
- Set appropriate and reasonable expectations with internal and external partners
- Maintains proper documentation of all renewal activities in all systems including, but not limited to, Salesforce
