Underwriter (Blue Incentive) Position Available In [Unknown county], North Carolina

• Job Description
• We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Underwriter to manage and price a large group book of business.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the achievement of key performance targets, including revenue, margin, and membership growth. You will work closely with the Sales team to develop competitive, strategic proposals that meet client needs while aligning with organizational goals. This position requires a strong foundation in risk assessment, financial analysis, and market dynamics to support sustainable and profitable business growth.

• What You’ll Do
• + Manage a Book of Business with up to 100,000 members and representing up to $350,000,000 in premium or premium equivalent.

+ Meet or exceed Business Segment revenue, margin, membership, persistency goals. + Provide consultative service to both internal and external customers. + Has the authority to make decisions within the bounds stipulated by Underwriting Management and departmental policies. + Produce regular and ad hoc reports for Underwriting Management. + Analyze underwriting risk and determines premium rates for fully insured groups and funding rates for ASO groups. + Utilize technical expertise to make recommendations regarding benefit and funding plan design options. Assist with underwriting process and system changes. + Participate in final rate and benefit discussions with Sales and external group customers. + May assist with the development and provision of training to the underwriting staff, sales staff, and other departments in the principles and practices of underwriting and rating.

• What You Bring
• + Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree (where required) + 3+ years of experience in related field. + In lieu of degree, 5+ years of experience in related field.

+ Resourceful in identifying issues and proposing effective solutions. + Ability to work independently and with a team. + The ability to work to a deadline and manage competing priorities. + Knowledge and experience working in Excel. + Experience with Blue Quote, Facets, and Salesforce

• Salary Range
• At Blue Cross NC, we take great pride in a fair and equitable compensation package that reflects market-price and our starting salaries are typically planned near the middle of the range listed.

Compensation decisions are driven by factors including experience and training, specialized skill sets, licensure and certifications and other business and organizational needs. Our base salary is part of a robust Total Rewards package that includes an Annual Incentive Bonus
