The Role We are looking for aself-motivated and highly organized individual to work on ourUnderwriting team as an Associate Underwriter. In this role, youwill report to the Director of Underwriting and be responsible forunderwriting and servicing a book of business for individualhealthcare professionals and clinics within their assignedterritory. You will also support the underwriting team by gatheringrequired underwriting information, file documentation, andcommunication. You will have the ability to evaluate price riskwithin company guidelines. It also requires a strong focus onexcellent customer service. Key Result Areas Underwriting accountsand policy maintenance Obtain appropriate applications andrequired additional informationAnalyze risk exposure(s) throughsubmission materials, including loss analysis evaluationDetermineappropriate rating classification, rates and final pricingPerformexperience rating with company approved filingsWork closely withclients, agents and client acquisition, providing information andupdatesAssist underwriters by reviewing new business and renewalaccountsUnderwrite profitable new and renewal accounts and servicesaccounts as assignedPrepare transaction instructions for processingteamInput data into core underwriting systemsAdhere to individualletter of authorityUnderwrite to meet profitability goalsCustomerservice Provide clients, agents and brokers with policyinformation, quotes and different coverage options asrequestedBuild and maintain relationships with agents, brokers andclients in territoryServe as the team’s first point of contact forall team accountsServe as back-up team coordinator to ensure team’sbook of business is adequately and proactively supportedObtainappropriate documentation for new policies, renewals andendorsementsProvide efficient and timely responses to internal andexternal clientsPartner with internal clients Obtain and providenecessary information regarding prospective and existing policyholders. This includes applications and other information needed toproperly assess risk.

Work with Customer Acquisition on new businessapplications and renewalsCommunicate with Claim on current claimactivityConsult with Patient Risk and Safety on risk managementpracticesAssist Finance in communicating premium changes andcollecting unpaid/past due premiumsInformation system managementUtilize automatic renewal system where appropriate and ensure thebusiness is serviced effectively and proactivelyIdentify systemissues and partners with IT for completionAssist with testing forupgrades/changes in Oasis, OnBase, and Sunlight.
