Up to $28/hour About the Role One of our top clients is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Insurance Underwriter to join their team on a contingent basis. This role is critical in evaluating risk and ensuring the profitability of our health and benefits portfolio. You’ll collaborate with actuaries, reinsurers, and sales teams to make informed underwriting decisions and maintain compliance with medical underwriting guidelines. What You’ll Do Evaluate and underwrite health insurance applications in accordance with company guidelines. Analyze risk and recommend actions such as rate adjustments, plan amendments, or distribution changes. Collaborate with actuaries and reinsurers for facultative approvals. Maintain accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.

What You’ll Bring Experience:

Minimum 2 years in medical or insurance-related roles.

Skills:

Strong decision-making, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant work experience considered. Understanding of medical terminology and anatomy. Familiarity with the health insurance market. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); Access knowledge is a plus. Ability to interpret medical records and analyze complex data. Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
