Senior Underwriter, Commercial Insurance Specialty Position Available In Westchester, New York

Chubb is currently seeking a skilled Core Commercial SeniorUnderwriter to join its Middle Market Commercial Insurance practicein White Plains, NY. The Senior Underwriter is responsible for arenewal book of $8.5M and generating new business of approximately$1.5M annually. The position will be responsible for drivingprofitable growth with New York Region agents and brokers. Productsinclude Package, Property, General Liability, E&O, Auto,Worker’s Compensation, Umbrella/Excess and Foreign. Programs areguaranteed cost and Loss Sensitive structures. We are looking for acandidate who is highly motivated, results oriented with solidbusiness and underwriting acumen.

Responsibilities:

Underwritingduties will include developing and negotiating price, coverage,terms, and conditions for all new business and renewals whileactively identifying account rounding opportunities for other Chubbpractices Collaborate with other underwriters, operations, claims,marketing, and home office management as necessary. The underwriterwill implement and manage effective pricing and rate strategiesthat will produce profitability, book growth, and successfulproducer relations Strong sales and marketing skills are critical;must be able to demonstrate successful agency and brokermanagement, including building, maintaining and managing producerand customer relationships Ability to identify opportunities forgrowth within new and existing production sources Knowledge ofmarketing principles, pricing/rate strategies and how to apply themto attain underwriting profit Travel will be mostly local CollegeDegree or equivalent experience 5 years of underwriting experienceCandidate will have experience in Middle Market P&C; PrivateEquity experience a plus Must have proven marketing and negotiationskills Candidate must possess a high degree of proficiency with theunderwriting process, with a solid background in risk analysisCandidate must have ability to effectively interact with all levelsof customers and collaborate with a team of underwriters, claimsand loss control personnel Knowledge and proficiency with technicalissues, compliance, coverage, products and pricing strategiesexpected Strong communication, interpersonal and time managementskills The pay range for the role is $125,000 to $160,000. Thespecific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and otherfactors. This role may also be eligible to participate in adiscretionary annual incentive program.
