Aboutthe role We are seeking an accomplished, strategic, andtechnically-skilled underwriting leader to play a pivotal role insupporting and optimizing Coalition’s rapidly-expanding globalcyber and technology E&O insurance portfolio. Reportingdirectly to the Head of Cyber Portfolio Underwriting, the GlobalCyber Portfolio Underwriting Director will drive consistency,profitability, and operational excellence across regions. Thisleader will combine deep expertise in cyber and technology riskunderwriting with advanced analytical, governance, and leadershipskills to strengthen the foundation of Coalition’s global cyber andtechnology E&O portfolio. This is a fully remote position, withperiodic travel as required for key meetings and traininginitiatives.
Responsibilities Portfolio Management & Performance:
Collaborate with and support regional leadership and their teams indriving sustainable profitable growth; ensuring a resilient globalinsurance portfolio. Utilize data-driven insights and marketintelligence to proactively identify and address portfolio trends,emerging risks, and opportunities for improvement. In acollaborative effort with the actuarial team and CUO, monitorportfolio-level aggregation of risk exposures across geographiesand industry sectors, ensuring risk appetite alignment and prudentcapacity deployment.
Underwriting Governance & Standards:
Develop,document, and enforce global underwriting best practices,guidelines, and authorities in collaboration with regional andfunctional teams. Implement and manage underwriting qualityassurance programs, including regular audits, peer reviews, andcontinuous improvement initiatives.
Technical Enablement &Automation:
Collaborate with regional teams, CUO, Claims and otherfunctional experts in developing and launching new and innovativerisk solutions Partner with CUO, product, technology, and actuarialteams to identify, design, and implement automation, analytics, anddigital tools that enhance underwriting quality, efficiency, anddecision-making.
Collaboration, Training & Leadership:
Serve as atrusted advisor and escalation point for complex and non-standardunderwriting referrals. Design, deliver, and continuously improvetechnical training, knowledge sharing programs, and mentorshipactivities to upskill underwriters globally and stay abreast ofcurrent and emerging risk issues. Foster a culture ofaccountability, innovation, and inclusion; influencecross-functional stakeholders and drive change through consensusand partnership.
Strategic Initiatives:
Support the Head of CyberPortfolio Underwriting on global initiatives, strategic projects,and management reporting. Represent Coalition at industry forums,conferences, and with key external partners as required Contributeto new product development, portfolio optimization, and expansioninto new markets or customer segments. Skills and Qualifications 8years of experience in underwriting Cyber, Technology E&O, andMiscellaneous Professional Liability, with proven expertise inportfolio management and assessing, structuring and pricing complexrisks. Exceptional stakeholder management, consensus-building, andexecutive communication skills—including the ability to distill andpresent complex technical matters to senior leadership, regionalteams, clients, and non-technical audiences. Strong organizationalskills—with experience driving cross-functional initiatives anddelivering on deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Robust knowledge of cyber risk landscape, threat actors, incidentresponse, digital forensics, and the evolving regulatoryenvironment impacting data privacy and cyber liability exposures.
Experienced working cross functionally building consensus, anddriving initiatives to conclusion. Experience in identifying andimplementing opportunities to refine and/or automate underwritingprocesses Demonstrated success in leading and managing underwritingteams, establishing portfolio controls, and driving profitabilityat scale. Compensation Our compensation reflects the cost of laboracross several US geographic markets. The US base salary for thisposition ranges from $160,000/year in our lowest geographic marketup to $200,000/year in our highest geographic market. Consistentwith applicable laws, an employees pay within this range is basedon a number of factors, which include but are not limited torelevant education, skills, job-related knowledge, qualifications,work experience, credentials, and/or geographic location.
