Position Overview:
Stallion Equity Management is seeking a sharp, detail-oriented Real Estate Analyst / Underwriter to support the acquisition and underwriting of value-add multifamily real estate investments across the Southeastern U.S. This individual will play a critical role in sourcing, evaluating, and modeling potential investment opportunities in alignment with the firm’s strategy to acquire, improve, and scale high-yield multifamily assets.
Key Responsibilities:
Build detailed financial models to evaluate real estate acquisitions, including pro forma projections, IRR, equity multiple, DSCR, cash-on-cash returns, and waterfall distribution scenarios Analyze property-level and market-level data to support investment decisions (rents, sales comps, expenses, lease audits, demographic trends) Underwrite deals using internal templates and support investment memos and IC presentations Collaborate with brokers, lenders, property managers, and construction teams to gather diligence information Conduct sensitivity analyses, stress tests, and breakeven scenarios for investment risks Maintain underwriting pipeline and tracking database for deal status, feedback, and assumptions Assist with preparation of investor-facing materials including pitch decks and deal summaries Review third-party reports (appraisals, Phase I/II, property condition assessments) and incorporate findings into underwriting Support due diligence process post-LOI through to closing, coordinating with legal, title, and lenders Continuously update comps, cap rate databases, and renovation benchmarks for internal underwriting standards
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or related field 2+ years of experience in real estate underwriting, private equity, investment banking, or multifamily acquisitions preferred Proficiency in Excel financial modeling and valuation techniques (DCF, IRR, leverage, sensitivity) Strong analytical and quantitative skills with exceptional attention to detail Ability to manage multiple deals simultaneously in a fast-paced environment Strong verbal and written communication skills for team and investor reporting Familiarity with multifamily operations, value-add strategies, and construction budgeting a plus Experience with Argus, CoStar, RealPage, or other real estate tools is advantageous Self-starter with high integrity and commitment to excellence
