Essential Functions:

Makes underwriting decisions regarding contract surety, non-contract surety and fidelity business within authority Collaborates with Corporate Office Bond to develop guidelines and procedures for department. Enforces guidelines and procedures Answers questions, shares recommendations for complex situations, such as difficult accounts, communication strategies or problematic agency relationships and explains the rationale for recommendations Collaborates with the branch marketing team to determine bond opportunities Meets with agents to assist in the acquisition and underwriting of fidelity and surety business Participates in branch marketing events as a representative of the Bond department Oversees and monitors the workload and performance of the Bond team

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business administration, accounting, finance or related field, or equivalent relevant experience Ten years of surety and fidelity experience Associate in Fidelity and Surety Bonding (AFSB) designation preferred Prior supervisory or leadership experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Excellent knowledge of fidelity and surety underwriting Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work effectively with others as well as independently while meeting deadlines Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong personal computer knowledge required with the ability to work with spreadsheets and the Internet Excellent human relations and organizational skills Must be able to review and understand financial statements Travel required; a valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle report per company standards required if driving Please note: The hiring salary range for this position will vary based on geographic location, falling within either the $128,094 – $183,584 range or $141,211 – $202,414 range. A hiring range represents a subset of the full salary range. The actual salary will depend on several factors, including relevant education, skills, and experience of an applicant, geographic location, and business needs.
