DESCRIPTION JOB FUNCTION / SUMMARY
The Agricultural Lender performs a variety of tasks and functions related to the sales and marketing of United Bank products, primarily focusing on agricultural related lending and deposit opportunities. Responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with new and existing customers.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Agricultural Lender has a well-developed understanding of the agricultural business segment including loan and deposit solutions, government programs, relevant crop insurance programs and competitive landscape. Primary duties and responsibilities include but may not be limited to:
Interviews applicants to determine loan requirements and gathers pertinent information for loan applications. Requests applicant credit reports, background checks, reference checks and other information pertinent to loan applicant’s evaluation.
Analyzes applicant’s financial status, credit, and asset evaluation to determine feasibility of granting loan, establishes credit limit through written and/or oral assessment.
Prepares financing proposals
Reviews loan documentation prior to closing for completeness and acceptance by the applicant.
Ensures timely loan closing and funding activities.
Manage loan portfolio including renewals, modifications, updated credit analysis, collections, past dues, technical exceptions and portfolio monitoring.
Achieve loan production goals.
Remain current on industry trends and regulations.
Participate in community and volunteer events.
Provide exceptional customer service and financial guidance.
Any other duties as assigned by Management.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, finance, business administration, or similar business-related field
5+ years of experience in Agricultural Lending
Strong understanding of agricultural practices and financial management
Excellent analytical and decision-making skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products, including Outlook, Excel, Word and ability to adapt to new technology
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
Master’s degree in a business-related field
