Mortgage Escrow Analysis Specialist Job Summary:

Responsible for analyzing escrow accounts to ensure accurate payments of taxes and insurance. This position involves reviewing escrow balances, performing annual escrow account analysis, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

General Description/Duties:

Duties include but are not limited to the following: Conduct escrow account analysis to determine appropriate tax and insurance payments. Review system and process escrow disbursements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Identify and resolve escrow shortages, surpluses, and deficiencies. Communicate with customers, lenders, insurance companies, and tax authorities regarding escrow adjustments and inquiries. Ensure compliance with RESPA (Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act) and other regulatory requirements. Maintain accurate records of escrow transactions and account adjustments. Assist in developing and improving escrow processes and workflows. Work closely with the Mortgage Servicing team to ensure proper handling of escrow accounts, disbursements, and refunds. Follow up with customers via phone and written correspondence to resolve short payments due to escrow analysis payment changes. Set up new escrow account information when requested; establish new voluntary and mandatory escrow, cancels escrow accounts, updates customers regarding status and/or disbursement of escrow account, and provides all necessary disclosures to the customer per investor and regulatory guidelines. Maintains loan account records with current PMI information for proper monthly payments and status information. Reviews loans with PMI for both auto cancellations and borrower requested cancellations. Quotes payoff figures to customers/attorneys. Gathers payoff data that may include pending escrow distributions, escrow balance information, and generates payoff statements. Answer incoming customer service calls and satisfy customer requests to include but not limited to amortization schedules, general loan information, escrow analysis questions, hazard insurance and disaster claims, providing copies of requested loan documents, re-amortization inquiries, property release requirements, payment posting issues, and general servicing inquiries. Assists with document requests related to QC audits, 3rd party and internal audits, and Federal and State Exams. Serves as backup to various servicing functions to include but not limited to investor reporting, payment posting, daily suspense report reconciliation, resolve Synapsys events, respond to e-Oscar ACDVs and written credit disputes. Attend annual regulatory training for escrow accounts and servicing as assigned. Participate in training modules and webinars offered by Freddie Mac, MI companies, and other 3rd party partners. Position will be required to comply with all Federal and State banking laws and related regulations. Performs other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent required. At least 1 year of Customer Service experience is preferred. Previous Accounting and Reconciliation experience preferred. Previous Escrow Accounting experience preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask, and the ability to meet deadlines. Proven analytical and problem-solving skills. Self-motivated with a strong work ethic, have a positive approach to work, and can work well both individually and as part of a team. Customer service focused with the ability to deliver Signature Service to internal and external customers by phone and in person. Microsoft Excel proficiency required and the ability to learn and apply new technology as needed.
