PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The SBA Loan Officer will be responsible for helping to build, retain, and expand business relationships within an assigned market. Assists in the development of a strong pipeline of new business opportunities through direct or indirect customer contact and prospecting. In addition, should be able to execute the strategy with calls, visits, needs assessments and customer follow up to maintain, enhance and expand customer relationships.
MAIN DUTIES OF THE JOB
Knowledge of SBA loans and current SBA SOP, Able to source and close SBA loans, Provides ongoing support to retail and commercial lenders for SBA loans, Understanding of basic underwriting and credit, Assists in the collection of SBA application and closing documentation, Provides excellent customer service by answer questions pertaining to SBA loans (ex would be structure, rules, regulations, closing timelines), Assists the Director of SBA Program Lending in planning portfolio growth the development of business plan in alignment with department budget and consistent with the overall Bank asset/liability management objectives, Coordinates with various divisions and departments (Branches, Commercial, HB Financial, Mortgage, etc.) to provide and receive referrals, Serves as a representative in community functions to enhance image and develop additional business, Assist with other tasks as assigned
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, related field, or the equivalent job experience. Minimum of two-three work experience in SBA Lending Demonstrated sales ability, influences with impact. Basic understanding of financial institution policies and procedures. Excellent communication, sales, and public relations skills. Exhibits sound judgment with strong interpersonal skills. Strong knowledge of the local market. Highly motivated to make calls and profess the company sales culture. Self-driven with ability to work independently and as part of a team
