Renovation Underwriting experience is greatly preferred. We offer a great working atmosphere, competitive pay, benefits, and the ability to work remotely or from one of our offices.

ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform mortgage credit analysis, with or without the assistance of an automated underwriting system to determine Borrowers’ willingness and ability to repay the mortgage debt. Review and validate income, asset, credit, title, value, and fraud reports. Ensure all required property information is in system. Review title information and purchase contract, if applicable. Run and review quality control tools -i.e., Fraud Reports and Early Check. Order and review Mortgage Insurance based on loan program. Ensure that system of record matches MI certificate. Approve or approve with conditions loan submissions after careful consideration and explore possible alternatives before resorting to a suspense or denial. Assist in resolving post-closing suspense issues. Must be able to evaluate and analyze complex income tax returns to establish qualifying income. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum of 5 years of recent Underwriting experience in the mortgage industry is a must

FHA DE-VA LAPP/SAR

Preferred State Housing experience a plus Renovation Underwriting Experience strongly preferred Experience with (AUS) automated underwriting systems- DU, LPA, and GUS Working knowledge of loan program products, services, and policies is essential A thorough grasp of state and federal regulations is required as well as a solid understanding of: HMDA, Regulation Z, Regulation B; the FHLMC, FNMA, USDA, VA, and FHA rules and processes Experience with Encompass LOS a plus Genuine commitment to customer service Solid organizational and problem-solving skills Proven aptitude to work in both a team and individual environment Compensation Commensurate with Experience
