Job Description
This Position is for a Loan Funding Specialist with a bank location in Ridgeland, MS.
Summary:
The Loan Funding Specialist will be responsible for processing all loan funding requests, and fee collection transactions within the Silver Lake Core System. This individual will ensure that established processes and policies are followed, and service standards are achieved. They will monitor and reconcile Loan Settlement General Ledger accounts and aid the Banking Centers regarding loan funding & maintenance.
Duties and Responsibilities include: Verify loan documents to core system. Process loan advances once loan is closed at the branch and booked by Document Processing. Setup Automatic Fund Transfers. Run fee transactions to core system to access and pay fees. Assist Loan Officers/Loan Assistants with all loan funding requirements. Process all loan maintenance such as waiving late fees, prepayment penalties, correcting posting errors and running reversals of loan payments when needed. Research loan transaction problems that cannot be handled by Banking Centers and perform necessary maintenance. Maintenance extension and amendment requests. Monitor and balance Loan Settlement General Ledger account. Submit credit bureau corrections. Add force placed insurance on loans. Perform other duties as assigned. Back up Escrow and Compliance areas. Maintain a thorough knowledge of Bank products, services, policies, procedures and appropriate regulatory issues as related to daily job functions including but not limited to: Bank Secrecy Act; Privacy Act; Fair Lending Act; Regulation E, etc. Complete required compliance training and adhere to the Bank’s standard of conduct. Participate in the bank’s High-Performance Rewards Connections Program. Make referrals to Mortgage Center and Wealth Management.
Requirements and Qualifications include: Bachelor’s Degree or two years lending assistant experience or working with loan transactions. General computer and typing experience with Microsoft Office Suite, to include Excel, Word, and Outlook. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Extensive reading as needed. Work outside of regular business hours, as deemed necessary. Ability to make difficult decisions and handle multiple tasks with daily deadlines.
