Job Description

What The Role Is Serves as examiner-in-charge of structured regional divisions, commercial and specialty loan examinations to ascertain of loan portfolios in a given market or portfolio sectors. Plans and conducts large scale examinations and oversees the work of lower-level loan review officers. Participates in the examinations by reviewing the most complex loans to ensure compliance with loan policy and regulatory requirements. Organize effective communication of findings to lending staff, bank management and loan review management. How You will Make an Impact

  • Serves as examiner-in-charge of structured exams. Identifies the scope and plans for resources conducts and participates in the review. Oversees the activities of lower-level loan review officers involved in the examination; finalizes and communicates the findings.
  • Conducts a systematic review of the most complex assigned loans to measure underwriting adequacy, soundness of loan administration policy, documentation adequacy, collateral evaluation, risk rating, and problem loan administration. All reviews should be measuring compliance with loan policy and regulatory requirements. Consults with management when necessary.
  • Interacts, verbally or in writing, with lending and regional credit staff in conjunction with loan reviews. Works to resolve any discrepancies and disputes.
  • Produces reports documenting review findings for presentation to senior management. Reports follow an established structure per department guidelines.
  • Organizes and/or provides verbal presentations of review findings to appropriate audiences, primarily division management, lending staff, and regional credit management.
  • Maintains an excellent working knowledge of lending policies and procedures to measure policy compliance during reviews.

Stays informed on new loan products, industry trends and regulatory changes.

Who You Are Required Qualifications:
    Minimum Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Accounting or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

      Minimum Experience:

      3-5 years of job specific experience.

      Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

      Understands how to identify, measure, control, and monitor risk in community and/or corporate banks. Experience in credit analysis and familiarity with complex commercial loan documents. Proven ability to provide objective feedback in a construction manner. Ability to work independently and maintain objectivity in assessments. Proficient in Excel, Word lending and risk analyst applications. Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills. Characteristics Works cooperatively with others. Regular and reliable attendance.
