Company 10153 – Credit ComplianceOverviewThe purpose of this job is to provide support to the retail and wholesale platform for items such as scenarios, underwriting guidance, review and submit tax returns to LoanBeam, review and issue VA NOV’s for VA appraisals, as well as underwrite a small pipeline of retail mortgage loans to assist in times of high underwriting volumes.
ResponsibilitiesProvide assistance to underwriters/originators/processors for questions, scenarios, guidelines, etc. Act as consultant by phone and e-mail on loan questions / problems to originators and processors that have not been decisioned by an underwriter.
Maintain a small pipeline of loans to decision during peak volumes in underwriting. These will mostly beVA IRRRL and FHA Streamline refinances.
Review and submit tax returns to LoanBeam to provide income calculations to be used for qualifying. Review and issue VA NOV’s for VA appraisalsKeep informed of all investor guidelinesPerform other work-related duties as assigned by supervisorReview and respond to management regarding quality control exceptionsPerform additional duties as assigned.
QualificationsHigh school education5 years’ experience in mortgage loan underwritingExperience in underwriting
FNMA/FHLMC/FHA/VA / USDA
Rural Housing investor loansDesignated as an FHA DE underwriter Within 6 months of hireDesignated as a VA SAR within 6 months of hireDesignated as a VA Lapp underwriter within 6 months of hireDocumented experience in mortgage loan underwritingGeneral understanding and knowledge of underwriting and compliance guidelinesWorking knowledge and experience with DeskTop Underwriter SystemExceptional organizational skills and ability to efficiently handle workflowsAbility to communicate wellSuperior problem-solving skillsExcellent customer service skillsExcellent PC skillsCollege education preferred
