Position Summary:
The Loan Officer is responsible for all aspects of Residential and Commercial Mortgage Loan Processing and Underwriting. Handle telephone inquiries regarding mortgage rates and mortgage products. Interview loan applicants, review information and documentation. Assist loan applicants in completing mortgage loan applications. Review Truth-In-Lending Disclosures of all loans for accuracy. Evaluate applicants’ financial status, credit history, and property appraisals to assess their eligibility and determine the feasibility of approving loans. Underwrite residential, multi-family, mixed-use and commercial loan applications. Approve loans as authorized and issue mortgage commitments. Prepare preliminary attorney files for closing. Prepare loan files for final closing. Review and evaluate residential, multi-family, mixed-use and commercial appraisals. Maintains contacts with various real estate and loan brokers in all market areas to ensure a continuing demand for loan applications. Applicant must qualify to receive loan approval limits within one year of the employment start date as a condition of continued employment.
Education Level:
Undergraduate Degree or equivalent required
Knowledge and Experience:
Knowledge and experience with the mortgage industry and/or loan underwriting or equivalent experience. Prior sales experience. Microsoft Office computer skills required (Encompass/Ice Mortgage a plus). NMLS number required to perform job duties but not required to obtain employment.
