Job Title SBA Operations and Loan Servicing Manager Job Summary The SBA Operations and Loan Servicing Manager is responsible for overseeing the full life cycle of SBA loan processing—from initial application review through closing and ongoing servicing. This role ensures that each loan file complies with SBA guidelines as well as internal policies, while maintaining a high level of customer service and operational efficiency.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Operational Oversight:
Manage and oversee every phase of the SBA loan process, ensuring loan applications are thoroughly reviewed, accurately documented, and processed according to SBA standards. Monitor the loan pipeline and ensuring swift resolution of compliance-related matters.
Loan Servicing & Quality Control:
Supervise post-closing activities, coordinate proper documentation, and ensure that servicing functions—such as escrow, collections, and insurance verifications—are executed with precision. Conduct periodic reviews and audits of active loan files to confirm adherence to SBA and financial institution policies, mitigating potential risks.
Process Improvement & Compliance:
Develop and implement robust policies and procedures aimed at improving operational efficiency and ensuring ongoing compliance with federal guidelines. Stay updated on changes to SBA operating procedures and federal regulations, ensuring that the department’s practices are current and effective. Partner with internal stakeholders—including credit underwriting and special assets departments—and external vendors (e.g., title companies, appraisal firms) to optimize workflow and quality of the loan files.
Reporting & Documentation:
Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of loan processes, audit trails, and compliance reports required by internal management and external regulatory bodies. Establish performance metrics, track key operational indicators, and report progress to senior management regularly.
Required Qualifications & Experience Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience). Substantial industry experience will be considered as an equivalent to a college •
Experience:
3 – 5 years or more of experience in SBA loan operations and/or loan servicing.
Skills & Attributes:
Deep knowledge of SBA guidelines, federal regulations, and internal lending policies. Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment. Proficiency in loan management systems, data analysis, and generating performance reports. A proactive mindset toward process improvement and risk management.
