Serves as a point of contact to the borrower, originator, and underwriter from origination through the close of the loan. Oversees collection, documentation, and filing of required HMDA data. Works closely with team members, members, lenders, and vendors to deliver exceptional service and member focused solutions. Major Duties and Responsibilities 35% Inputs applications and loan data accurately into necessary software programs. Reviews applications and incoming data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance. Orders third party documentation and reports for residential and commercial loans, creates and maintains loan files and assists in clearing underwriting conditions as requested. Ensures regulatory separation of duties are maintained. Generates adverse action letters, TRID, and other required disclosures in compliance with state and federal regulations. Completes pre-closing and post-closing activities. applications and loan data accurately into necessary software programs. Orders third party documentation and reports for residential home loans, creates and maintains mortgage loan files and assists in clearing underwriting conditions as requested. Reviews incoming data and documents to assure completeness and accuracy. Generates adverse action letters, TRID, and other required disclosures in compliance with state and federal regulations. 25% Works closely with originators and underwriters and provides support as needed. Effectively communicates loan status to all relevant parties, including borrowers, realtor, attorney, originators, and any others associated and involved in the transaction. Responds to in person, telephone, and electronic inquiries. Tracks outstanding items on loan files and follows up with members and vendors to ensure timely receipt of necessary documentation. Processes member requests including, but not limited to, amortization schedules, payments, payoff quotes, copies of loan documents, property releases, hazard insurance, and general inquiries. Performs various other servicing duties as requested. 25% Assists with daily pipeline management. Gathers HMDA information on every application as required and assists with annual HMDA filing by the deadline. 10% Maintains knowledge and adheres to all credit union policies, procedures, federal and state laws, and regulations that pertain to lending functions. Ensures loan documentation follows standards established by federal, state, and government guidelines, as well as the policies and procedures of the Credit Union. Remains alert to trends or conditions in areas that affect mortgage lending. Ensures that Fair Lending practices are always applied. 5% All other job responsibilities as assigned by management. Knowledge and Skills Experience One year of mortgage loan processing/underwriting experience in the financial services industry. Ability to obtain a NMLS license required. Familiarity with HMDA desired, but not a requirement. Education/Certifications/Licenses High school degree or GED required. Associate or bachelor’s degree in relevant field desired, but not required. Interpersonal Skills A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required. In-depth dialogue, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature. Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance. Typically includes subject matter experts as well as first level to middle managers. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on a computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance. Working Conditions Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal to moderate noise. Mental and/or Emotional Requirements Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team.
