About the position:
We are currently seeking a Closing Coordinator in our growing Birmingham/Tuscaloosa division! Our Closing Coordinators prepare and maintain closing packages, communicate with lenders and home buyers, review closing disclosures, and maintain accurate file records. This position also serves as a liaison between construction and administers all aspects of the contracts portion of a closing.
Essential Functions:
Prepare and maintain closing packages
Obtain expected closing dates from construction for all contracts; distribute Stage Reports to construction; and update the stages of completion as well as actual closing dates in appropriate software systems as information is provided
Provide all closing documentation to appropriate parties, including final surveys, soil treatments, contracts, certificates of occupancy; and coordinate key delivery
Process and maintain files including original closing disclosures, plans, lender letters, purchase agreements, and ensure all closing documents are filed with the lot file as well
Coordinate with mortgage and title companies and attorney’s offices (as applicable) to set buyer closing appointment; notify home buyers in writing of scheduled closing date(s)
Review all closing paperwork and contracts
Reconcile Earnest Money Exception report
Make bank deposits, if applicable

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 6 months of directly related experience and/or training
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and email
Preferred Qualifications:
Completed Certificate program in Business, Real Estate, Construction, or other related field of study from college or technical school is a plus
JD Edwards experience
1 year of direct closing experience is highly desired
Ability to work overtime Working environment:
Closing Coordinators generally work in a typical office environment with moderate noise levels. Candidates should be comfortable frequently communicating with the public and colleagues face-to-face, over the phone, or through electronic means. Candidates should be able to sit for the majority of an 8-hour work-day as well as possess the ability to traverse across the office; use hands to handle or feel objects and reach; possess close and peripheral vision; and be able to speak and hear.
