Job Description Job summary: Process consumer, residential, and commercial loan applications from origination to closing, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. Manage loan-servicing activities including collections and customer inquiries. Support bank management and lending staff. Assist with the banks’ HMDA data collection and report generation
Essential Functions :
Process all loan applications for consumer, mortgage & commercial loans accurately and efficiently, meeting established deadlines. Share your expertise in consumer, mortgage and commercial lending and ensure adherence to best practices. Prepare all loan documentation to ensure all loan files are complete and compliant with bank policies and regulatory requirements. Stay current on industry regulations and best practices in loan processing. Prepare loan-related reports and contribute to the development and improvement of loan processing procedures. Coordinate with the compliance department on Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA), ensuring accurate and timely data collection, reporting, and recordkeeping.
Secondary Duties:
Process loan payoff requests. Prepare wiring documents for wiring closing funds. Maintain a working knowledge of job-applicable regulations and complete required compliance training as assigned by the bank in a timely manner. Perform other duties as may be assigned by Management.
Requirements:
Preferred Minimum Requirements:
High school graduate or equivalent (e.g., GED). Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a bank loan processing role &/or related banking experience, with a proven track record of exceptional accuracy and efficiency in handling both mortgage and commercial loans. In-depth knowledge of loan processing, servicing, and documentation procedures for both mortgage and commercial loans. Working knowledge of the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) regulations (preferred). Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Superior attention to detail and accuracy. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with a working knowledge of loan processing software for both mortgage and commercial lending (preferred). Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively, prioritizing effectively in a fast-paced environment. Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands or fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or up to 25 pounds. Prolonged and frequent mental and visual concentration required. Periodic stressful situations in response to multiple priorities within established deadlines. Work hours are generally during normal business hours, sometimes including Saturday mornings. Unscheduled morning, evening and additional weekend work may be needed to meet the needs of customers and employees. Drive vehicle for bank business.
