Loan Document Specialist 3.5 3.5 out of 5 stars 3501 North Valdosta Road, Valdosta, GA 31602 Role The primary function of the Loan Document Specialist is to ensure timely, accurate and efficient processing of all In House Mortgage Loans, Home Equity Lines of Credit and Commercial Loans. Responsibilities include but are not limited to 1. Coordinating each file from application to closing. 2. Inputting and/or uploading loan information into the core system for processing and document preparation. 3. Ensuring all loan documentation is complete, accurate, verified and complies with credit union, underwriting and TRID policy. 4. Ordering appraisal, flood zone determination, title search and other pertinent items required for the files. 5. Working with attorneys to ensure smooth and efficient closings for our members. 6. Meeting deadlines with a sense of urgency. 7. Working independently while being a team player. 8. Performing any additional duties and responsibilities assigned by management. Major Duties and Responsibilities Preparation of Loan Documents and additional addendum as directed by lenders in and accurate and timely manner. Coordinates loan closing dates with lenders, members, attorneys and other professionals to ensure the loan closing process is timely and efficient Follows up for suspense items and ensures that all steps are taken to maintain complete and accurate file information. Review and verify information is accurate and complete in documents for loans in process and assure they are filed accurately for ease of retrieval. Order documents needed for loan process (Flood, Appraisal, Title, etc). Set up Escrow Accounts and assist with paying of property taxes and insurance. Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control. Knowledge and Skills Experience 2-5 years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience Education/Certifications/Licenses A 2-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school requiring approximately 64 credit hours Interpersonal Skills A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required. In-depth dialogue, conversations and explanations with members, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/ or highly confidential nature. Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance. Typically includes subject matter experts as well as first level to middle managers. Other Skills Ability to perform collateral perfection, including real property and UCC Must be PC literate; experience with LaserPro, TSoft or other SBA software and banking software a strong plus. ADA Requirements Physical Requirements Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 15 lbs. Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Working Conditions Must be able to routinely perform work both indoors in climate-controlled environment and outside in sometimes inclement weather. Mental and/or Emotional Requirements Must be able to perform job functions under independently and with limited supervision. And work effectively as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations with extreme accuracy. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of member service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under stress of deadline, requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.

$18.68 – $23.35 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week
