Loan Preparation Specialist or Loan Assistant Citizens Bank 814 Main St, Columbia, MS 39429 NOTES•This job is available for in-person work only, and pay will be based on work experience. Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Loan Assistant to support our lending team in providing exceptional service to our clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial services, particularly in loan processing and underwriting. This role involves assisting loan officers with the preparation and management of loan applications, and facilitating smooth communication between all parties involved in the loan process. Responsibilities Assist loan officers in the preparation and processing of loan applications. Review and verify loan documents for accuracy and completeness. Coordinate with clients, underwriters, and escrow companies to facilitate timely loan closings. Monitor the status of loans in process and provide updates to clients and team members. Prepare contracts and other necessary documentation for loan origination. Conduct follow-ups with clients regarding required documentation or information. Maintain organized records of all loan files and correspondence. Other duties as assigned Requirements Previous experience in financial services or banking preferred. Familiarity with loan processing, underwriting, mortgage servicing, and escrow procedures. Knowledge of Fair Housing regulations is a plus. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks. Proficient in using mortgage software and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. A proactive approach to problem-solving with a customer-focused mindset.
