Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Mortgage Post-Closer to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring the completeness, accuracy, and timely delivery of closing documentation necessary for the sale and servicing of mortgage loans. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a collaborative attitude, and a solid understanding of post-closing mortgage processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as a central point of contact between internal operations teams, loan officers, and external settlement agents to facilitate smooth post-closing transactions. Obtain, review, and deliver post-closing conditions and documentation to the appropriate servicer or investor to ensure timely loan delivery and sale. Proactively identify and follow up on missing or incomplete documents by coordinating with attorneys, title companies, and closing agents. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of loan files and documentation in accordance with company and investor guidelines. Communicate any discrepancies or issues to management and work collaboratively to resolve them efficiently. Participate in departmental audits and quality control reviews as required. Assist management with special projects and process improvement initiatives as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
A minimum of 2 years experience in mortgage post-closing, secondary market, or a related function is strongly preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook. Experience with Encompass Loan Origination Software (LOS) is highly desirable. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and data integrity. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including a professional phone demeanor. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment. Strong sense of ownership and responsibility for assigned tasks. Comfortable interacting with individuals at all levels of the organization, including executive staff. Post-secondary education or relevant coursework in finance, business, or real estate is preferred.
