SUMMARY:
In accordance with sound underwriting practices as set out in policy and procedure, examines, evaluates, and recommends approval of borrower’s applications for credit or extension of lines of credit.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following: Enters mortgage applications into the origination system, pulls credit reports, tax assessments, and DU Findings. Provides in person or by telephone, information concerning the mortgage loan process and procedures, as well as other credit union products and services. Conducts interviews with loan applicants. Processes real estate loan applications, including, conforming mortgage loans to secondary market standards (ordering appraisals, credit reports, wood infestation reports, and income/employment and deposit verifications). Assisting the AVP – Mortgage Services with training opportunities such as monthly webinars, mortgage seminars within the community and other needs within the credit union. Organizes and standardizes all the completed mortgage loan files. Balances all real estate related general ledgers. Maintains application and approval records to comply with the “Home Mortgage Disclosure Act” for the credit union. Posts payments and disbursements from escrow funds as required. Monitors and reviews HMDA data as required by federal regulation. Responsible for tracking and placing insurance on loans with no coverage. Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
High school diploma; and at least two years related experience and/or training in real estate lending; or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field.
