JOB SUMMARY:

The Mortgage Post-Closing / Servicing Specialist I is responsible for supporting post-closing and servicing functions for 1-4 unit residential real estate loans. This role involves responding to inquiries from members and employees, tracking and reviewing final loan documentation, managing internal and investor reporting, and coordinating with external vendors to resolve servicing and post-closing issues.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide prompt and professional responses to inquiries from members and internal staff via email and telephone. Manage and process incoming payments and receivables from members and investors. Track and ensure receipt of fully executed loan documents, including recorded mortgages and final title policies; perform document imaging as required. Open, sort, distribute, and process incoming departmental mail. Prepare and process loan payoff requests. Process and manage subordinations and lien releases. Review and monitor unpaid taxes and insurance on mortgage loans, ensuring timely resolution. Maintain and regularly update internal process documentation and procedural guides. Adhere to credit union policies and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and regulatory requirements for mortgage lending and servicing. Provide cross-functional support to other real estate department team members and perform additional duties as assigned.

EDUCATIONAL AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Experience :

1-3 years of experience in mortgage servicing, post-closing, or member service roles preferred.

Knowledge :

Familiarity with mortgage-related documentation and a working knowledge of applicable lending regulations.

Detail-Oriented :

Demonstrated accuracy and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail.

Communication :

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a professional and courteous approach.

Problem Solving :

Ability to analyze loan documents and resolve issues with tact and diplomacy.

Independence :

Capable of working independently and managing time effectively with minimal supervision.

Interpersonal Skills :

Comfortable with frequent interaction across departments and with external contacts to share information and build relationships.

Regulatory Compliance :

Must meet Safe Act requirements and be bondable. This includes registration or licensing with the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System (NMLS).
