SUMMARY Perform specific Night Audit procedures related to accounting and shift balancing which, prepare the business day to close and then, open business for the next day. In addition, they also must accommodate guests of hotel by performing sales and customer service functions related to guest registration, departures and revenue collection, in a manner that will ensure our guests receive a secure place to stay with friendly, attentive service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Operate front desk equipment such as; switchboard (PBX), Property management System (PMS), fire panel, central reservation system, copier, calculator, fax machine, printers.
  • Perform tasks specific to the Night audit.

These tasks must be done with little to no supervision.

These tasks include:

Verify all account postings and guest billing for the day, make adjustments as needed in order to balance daily transactions, run the actual night audit process on the property management system and prepare night audit packet, balance and transmit credit cards, print and organize reports.

  • Recognize and greet the guests upon entry into the lobby or on the telephone. Respond appropriately to information requests and complaints.
  • Check guests in and out and give courtesy callbacks as necessary.
  • Use suggestive selling techniques to sell rooms, make advance reservations and solicit franchise programs and memberships.
  • Provide security for guests and the property by controlling room keys, certifying cash banks, making safe drops, preparing cash reports, following credit card guidelines and reporting suspicious activity by guests or others.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent; prior guest service or night audit experience in the hospitality industry.

COMMUNICATIONS SKILLS

Individual must possess excellent interpersonal skills and good oral and written command of English. Spanish is a plus. Ability to effectively present and respond to guests.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts. Individual must be detailed oriented. Accuracy is a must.
