NIGHT AUDITOR
is to compute, classify, and record numerical data to keep financial records complete. Perform any combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records. May also check the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions recorded by other workers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner. Comply at all times with standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations. Maintain a friendly and warm demeanor at all times. Initiate and complete the End of Day process. Run all reports as required for Food and Beverage audit. Complete the Night Audit checklist for computer procedures daily. Balance the day’s work. Maintain cashiering responsibilities as per Front Office procedures. Maintain Front Office computer system operation. Fulfill all Front Office functions between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. Handle and follow through on all guest requests daily from 11:00 p.m. until 7:00 a.m. Follow safety and emergency procedures. Maintain proper record keeping (i.e., log books, etc.). Be familiar with all policies and house rules. Complete the initial direct bills, daily, and place on the Property Accountant’s desk; Attach all folio/banquet check back-up to the bills. Maintain radio contact with other employees during entire shift. Have a working knowledge of security procedures. Ensure employees are at all times, attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all guests, managers and fellow employees. Prepare and distribute the Daily Flash Report. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
: A high school diploma or general education degree (GED); and/or experience in a hotel or related field preferred. Completions of Bartender’s school or course preferred. Our Night Auditor is responsible for keeping the night facility running smoothly and for guests to have a pleasant and memorable experience. This position requires a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently. The Night Auditor is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working environment while adhering to all safety standards. This position requires the ability to work in an isolated area after hours and occasionally during these hours. Duties & Responsibilities Review and inspect all facilities at night to ensure that they meet Residence Inn by Marriott Back Bay/Fenway’s highest standards Perform routine maintenance on facilities (e.g. light switches, locks, doors) Perform routine cleaning (e.g. sweeping floors, mopping) on all facilities Clean facilities during off hours if necessary Assist in loading/unloading equipment from vehicles to facilities Ensure all cleaning supplies are replenished and are available for use during night shifts Keep track of inventory and record usage of cleaning supplies in the facility’s computer system Report maintenance issues or shortages to the Supervisor or Manager Assist in preparing for each shift with diagrams or schedules of where cleaning or maintenance tasks will be done or finished, who will perform them, etc. Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Manager that may affect the quality of life for guests or employees Skills & Qualifications Ability to work in isolation from the facility as needed (e.g. climb ladders, lift heavy equipment) Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating procedures, etc. as well as instructions in written and oral forms. This includes visual identification of markings on paper or electronic screens. It also includes hearing voices at times when required by an emergency situation. •Excellent oral communication skills – both written and verbal – with the ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization or outside of it (e.g., customers, vendors). This includes listening attentively to spoken instructions and responding appropriately when faced with conflicting information. It also includes speaking clearly so as not to give misleading information about services or products and ensuring that proper documentation is completed accurately when communicating with employees outside of the facility (e.g., staff members)
