Job Summary:
The Night Auditor is responsible for verifying the postings and calculations of other associates, preparing summary reports, functioning as a Guest Services Representative and Manager on Duty.
Essential Job Duties:
Practices life safety & security practices in accordance with Franchisor standards. Counts tills and banks at beginning of shift and makes adjustments if needed. Answers phones and responds to guest requests. Makes reservations as necessary. Maintains a working knowledge of rate structure and marketing programs and up-sells whenever possible. Prints lists of guests in-house, reservations list of guests who have not arrived yet, available unoccupied room list, and housekeeping report. Monitors reports and makes decisions relative to selling rooms which are reserved to fill the hotel. Balances reports to daily records. Reviews house accounts nightly, and does needed maintenance, i.e., attaches backup and balances. Balances various accounts, i.e., daily restaurant, miscellaneous postings, cigarettes, etc., if needed. Prints and reviews phone account daily. Checks non-guest paid-out account and assures that all charges are posted to correct posting code. Reviews all credit card accounts. Displays and reviews all check-out direct bills. Prints and reviews Rate Variance Report. Runs the night audit reports nightly. Checks out guests as needed. Coordinates preparation and presentation of breakfast bars where applicable. Functions as Guest Services Representative. Functions as Manager on Duty and understands related job functions as Manager, Fire Safety, Water, Power outages, etc. Communicates issues, concerns, complaints, compliments, and suggestions to the management of the organization and not to other associate, guests, etc. Supports the Holiday Inn Express Mission Statement, Vision Statement, philosophy, policies and procedures.
