Job Summary :
As a Payroll & Benefits Manager/Administrator, you will be responsible for managing payroll processing and administering employee Benefits programs. Your primary focus will be on accurately and efficiently processing payroll, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and administering employee benefits programs. This role requires a meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a thorough understanding of payroll processes and benefits management.
Key Duties :
Payroll:
Manage time card submissions and review employee hours for accuracy and compliance Monitor and enforce company policies related to PTO, holidays, and sick leave on employee time cards Address and resolve employee inquiries or discrepancies related to payroll Process end-to-end payroll in a timely and accurate manner Maintain up-to-date payroll records for new hires, terminations, salary adjustments, and deductions Calculate and process payroll-related taxes, benefits, and other statutory deductions Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws, including the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Stay informed on changes to payroll regulations and tax laws to ensure continued compliance.
Benefits:
Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other company-sponsored offerings Support employee communications related to benefits enrollment, eligibility, and changes Collaborate with the HR team to ensure accurate and up-to-date benefits data across systems Process and reconcile benefits-related reports, including payroll summaries and contribution reports Assist with the preparation and submission of regulatory filings and compliance reports related to benefits Coordinate with external vendors (e.g., benefits carriers, brokers) to resolve issues and maintain service quality
HRIS & Systems Administration:
Manage the configuration and maintenance of the HRIS platform (currently ADP Workforce Now) to support payroll and benefits administration Ensure accurate data entry and system integrity for employee records, workflows, and compliance tracking Support system upgrades, new feature implementations, and process automations to improve efficiency Generate and analyze system-based reports to support audits, compliance, and decision-making Serve as the point of contact for troubleshooting HR system issues and coordinating with technical support or vendors as needed
HR Department Initiatives & Compliance:
Maintain strict confidentiality and ensure compliance with data protection policies when handling sensitive employee information Support department-wide initiatives related to employee programs, compliance, and continuous improvement Assist with research, documentation, and coordination efforts across HR projects and process enhancements Stay current with HR and payroll industry best practices, legal updates, and emerging trends to help inform team decisions
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Accounting, or a related field 5+ years of experience in payroll and benefits administration Proficient in payroll processing and knowledgeable in payroll taxes and deductions Familiarity with employee benefits programs and compliance requirements Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (ADP preferred) Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management Solid understanding of employment laws and confidentiality standards Skilled in Microsoft Excel and general data reporting Problem-solver with a commitment to continuous learning In addition to experience with multiple states, we are looking for experience working with employees in multiple offices/locations
